You’ve most probably heard of Tangle Teezer* . This hairbrush blasted onto the beauty scene several years ago and since then it’s gained more and more fans and spawned several different versions. There’s the Original, Salon Elite, Aqua Splash, the incredibly cute Magic Flowerpot for babies , Thick and Curly, Blow-styling tools and the one I have the Compact Styler* in special edition Lulu Guinness design. So there’s plenty to choose from.
My own hair is thick with a slight wave to it. It’s currently very short so luckily I don’t get too many tangles. I’ve also been using this on my 2 year old, he has thick, curly hair that’s considerably longer than mine. I would also have used this on my husband's but unfortunately his hair has long since departed :( The Tangle Teezer works well on both mine and my son’s hair. I usually use a Wet Brush on my son. Both the Wet Brush and the Tangle Teezer are great detangling tools but they differ greatly. The Wet Brush doesn’t give my hair a good brush but the Tangle Teezer is very satisfying. The varied lengths of teeth coupled with compactness catch all the hair on my head, and I have a lot, and leave it thoroughly brushed and shiny. On my son’s hair it’s equally as good too. It easily deals with tangles, and he really gets a lot, while brushing out his lovely curls. The Thick and Curly brush would probably be slightly better for my son but the one I have works well too.
As well as the Compact Styler* being a great hairbrush and detangler it’s also rather brilliantly designed; both to look at and to use. I’m right-handed and I also have some damage and arthritis to my right-hand/wrist. The ergonomic design of the Tangle Teezer makes it easy for me to use, sometimes standard brushes can be painful and difficult to grip but the Tangle Teezer is really nice and easy to hold. So if you have problems with your hands it might be worth looking at this type of brush to make things a little bit easier.
The Compact Styler also comes with a cover to protect the teeth while carrying it in your bag. This also means that you won’t get your fingers poked while rummaging trying to find something, or just that only happen to me? It’s design also makes this the perfect brush to pop in your swim or gym bag. Practicalities aside, look at it! I absolutely love the iconic Lulu Guinness design but if for some reason you don’t like this design there’s lots to choose from such as a gold finish or leopard print.
For me, the Tangle Teezer lives up to its hype, and boy is it hyped. But I can definitely see why. It is VERY satisfying to use, even on my short hair. I imagine if you have long hair, both thick and fine, this would make an excellent brush. It detangles easily with minimal pull and stress to the hair. It leaves the hair feeling ahhhh and shiny too.
Have you tried the Tangle Teezer?

Oooh, I'll look out for this - I have a shock of thick hair so am always up for finding new products to use on it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed with it! really gives my thick hair a good, satisfying brush :)
DeleteI've tried a Tangle Teezer and I'm not sure what I think of it. I only tried it a couple of times and wasn't that impressed. I prefer using a wet brush and I think it's because it looks and feels like an actual brush if that makes sense? I'll need to look mine out and give it another go!

I'm a big fan of the wet brush too but i just feel the tangle teezer gives more of a brush, if that makes sense? and is therefore quicker than the wetbrush but yeah give it another go! xx
