Stuff, it is absolutely everywhere. I have (or we have, especially my little boy) stuff in the living room, in the bedrooms, in the bathroom, stuff just everywhere. At this time of year I love to have a huge clear out and freshen up. And so the cycle goes on and on. But (very) temporarily there’s a de-cluttered space and it feels good. As well as having a good old clear out we’re also doing a bit of redecorating, you’ll be able to see the outcome of this next month, hopefully.
I’ve already started to change the look of my dining area, you can see it in this post but I’m not finished. I have a rough idea where I want to take it but I’ve made a mood board in collaboration with Fishpools to help me decide. Hopefully it’ll give you some ideas too.
As you can see from my mood board above I definitely have a theme. I like rustic yet minimalist interiors and this dining set called Nevada Metal from Fishpools (top left) fits perfectly with the rustic theme. The Nevada Metal set also has a nice history. The wood it’s built from is reclaimed and was previously used to build old barns, housing supports and even bridges. I definitely think that makes it more interesting than your standard dining room furniture. But if you don’t fancy the look of the one I selected there’s much more choice of dining room furniture at Fishpools.
As well as buying the right dining room furniture for your space lighting is also vital for getting the overall look right. It’s also one of the easiest to change and play about with. I went with beautiful rose gold pendant lights from Litecraft that you can see in my post here. For more ideas you can have a look at my lighting Pinterest board.
When I’m feeling spendy or just want to look at very pretty things I go to Anthropologie where the above plates and mug are from. Just look at all that pretty! My own little condiment set is from Pieter Stockmans for Serax (you can buy here) that I picked up from the Bauhaus gift shop when I visited a few years ago. I think it’s little touches like this that really add to look, like a necklace completing an outfit. For more ideas you can visit my Pinterest here.
Do you like a good spring clean too?
