The Tea Makers Glass Infuser Tea Cup

I’m a great believer that tea will help better any situation. I’m sure many Brits will hold the same sentiment. After the birth of my son I had a cheese sandwich, custard creams, and a massive mug of tea and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. There’s something incredibly reassuring about a hot mug of tea; it’s like a security blanket for the soul. So yeah, I like tea, I think you get that. My tea of choice is Jasmine tea, I drink it every day, roughly 3-4 cups a day and I have done for several years now. I love the fragrant yet bitterness of it, it suits my personality quite well actually ha. 

I had a conversation the other day with the wonderful Yasumi from one of my long-time favourite blogs WorshipBlues about the importance of form and function in design. The Bauhaus knew how to do this. A prime example is Marianne Brandt’s tea pot. Isn’t it just beautiful? The perfect marriage of form and function. There’s something about teaware/coffeeware that just gets form and function, it’s practical yet aesthetically pleasing. Which leads me (yes this is going somewhere) onto the lovely infuser glass cup* from The Tea Makers. This cup combines a beautiful glass design with a removable strainer making it perfect for one cup loose leaf tea. There’s also a lid to help keep the contents warmer for longer.

Initially I was a bit skeptical about how it would stand up to hot water temperatures as it feels very delicate but it’s made from Borosilicate glass, which we’ll be more familiar with the trade name Pyrex (it’s the same material). So this can definitely withstand high temperatures. I’ve been using The Tea Makers loose leaf jasmine green tea* in it which is a really lovely jasmine tea. It’s very fragrant with a slight bitterness, if you love jasmine tea I do recommend giving this a go. I leave the loose leaf tea mixed with jasmine flowers to infuse for several minutes then remove the glass infuser inside the cup. Everything is easy to clean with warm soapy water.

The infuser cup would be ideal to take to work or when you don’t want to make a bigger pot of tea. The simple yet elegant design works really well and if you love loose leaf tea (or know anyone that does) I’d really recommend getting one of these.
