(L-R: Jenna / Red Carpet / Pink Blossom / Razzberry)
Hello! I hope you're all thoroughly enjoying this lovely weather we're
having. I'm continuing my favourites with some more Bobbi Brown products, the Creamy Matte Lip Color
and Sheer Lip Color (which really isn't that very sheer). These
lipsticks, for me, have some of the best formulas I've ever tried. The
Creamy Matte lip colors are in fact not a contradiction, they are indeed
creamy and matte (well almost). They go on easily and feel rich and
comfortable on the lips. They eventually go kind of matte but never the
matte of say MAC's mattes. If you have dry lips don't be put off by
them, they're actually quite moisturising and not drying at all. But
besides the impressive formula I really love the colours. Bobbi Brown is
generally known for enhancing beauty through muted colours and tones
but the lipsticks I have are bright although Razzberry is more
subdued, Jenna and Red Carpet certainly aren't. Here's a photo off me
wearing Jenna from a previous post.
Jenna doesn't really need much else with it, a nice bit if eyeliner and a light blush. For some reason this is one if my favourites to wear when I go see some Modern Art. Red Carpet is a proper old school glamour red, again not much else is needed with this apart from some eyeliner but I'm beginning to think this is more about my own preferences. I just don't think you need much eyeshadow when wearing bright, strong colours. Razzberry is the perfect winter shade, it's a beautiful berry colour with leanings towards mauve.
In contrast Sheer Lip Color in Pink Blossom is the perfect Spring/Summer shade. It's a corally pink/red which I think would suit most skin tones. As previously noted I think these are a bit of a misnomer as I wouldn't say they're sheer at all. They definitely feel much lighter on the lips than the Creamy Mattes but I'd describe Pink Blossom as semi- opaque. All of the swatches are only swiped once so they're really quite pigmented. Which is good because Bobbi Brown lipsticks aren't the cheapest but they do last for ages, have a brilliant formula and are long wearing. (I will have cheaper favourite lipsticks coming up soon)
