And the finale of the Lipstick Week Tag: Bold Yins! It’s MAC’s Ruby Woo. Ruby Woo is a very matte blue-red, it’s a bit deeper than my lip swatch shows. Again, this is pretty cool toned but looks great on the very fair to the very dark. It’s an old-school, vintage red. This is by far one of my favourite lipsticks. Due to its matte-ness it can be difficult to apply so a bit of lip balm a wee while before is recommended- do remember to remove excess lip balm before application though, it’ll ruin the matte look otherwise. The longevity of Ruby Woo is fantastic, once it’s on it doesn’t budge and there’s very little transfer either. This is an enduring favourite.

Armani Lip Maestro in 503 Red Fuchsia (Lipstick Week Tag)
Next in the Bold Yins Series is Armani Lip Maestro in 503 Red Fuchsia. This is pretty much as described. It's a strong red-pink with bright fuchsia undertones. It's on the cool side, so once again this would suit most cool skin tones. The finish is a glossy-velvet, if that makes sense. It has an unusual texture, it doesn't dry on the lips instead it remains a bit 'wet'. It can transfer due to this but again I don't care about this, it still lasts for ages and the colour is amazing. It's one of my favourite lip colours, a definite luxury buy.

Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Drama RD501 (Lipstick Week Tag)
Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Drama RD501 is next in my Bold Yins series. It's a full-bodied, take-no-prisoners-red (leaning towards a cool-tone). Technically it isn't a lipstick but a lip lacquer ie. a liquid lip colour. It's rich and comfortable to wear, providing a nice bit of moisture. One coat provides full colour but more darkens it into an intense blood-red.
Shiseido Lacquers are inspired by Japanese lacquerware, they provide a high-lustre, polished finish. It's a beautiful lip product, ideally it should be worn with a lip liner as it can bleed a bit and also to give it that polished look it deserves.

Lipstick Queen Hot Rose Sinner (Lipstick Week Tag)
(sorry, not the most tidiest application!)
Sorry for the break in my Lipstick Week: The Bold Yins. Anyway, the next one in the series is Lipstick Queen Hot Rose Sinner. I love everything about this lipstick, it’s a comfortable, creamy formula that is super-pigmented. It does leave it’s mark on cups/other people though, but nothing wrong with a bit of territorial marking every now and again.
Hot Rose Sinner is a bright, pink-rose colour. It really is stunning and I think it should suit most cool skin tones. This is easily one of my favourite lip colours I own. You should definitely buy it.

Bobbi Brown Jenna (Lipstick Week Tag)
Bobbi Brown Jenna is definitely a Bold Yin. It's orange, proper orange, it's not messing about. Jenna is from the relatively new Creamy Matte Lip Color range. It's nowhere near as matte as say MAC's offerings, it's creamy and comfortable to wear. To be honest, it doesn't really feel that matte to me.
My only gripe about this lipstick is the shape, it can make a messy application and I hate using lip liner. Other than that I really love it, it's big and bold with great pigmentation and longevity.

Illamasqua Drench Lipstick (Lipstick Week Tag)
Following on from the start of my lipstick week is Illamasqua Drench. This is the lip colour I wore on my wedding day. It's actually a little bit darker than the above photo shows, it's a beautiful berry-pink red. The colour really suits pale, cool complexions.
Drench is matte, but creamy and comfortable on the lips. I've just looked at the Illamasqua site and they've discontinued it, why?! It's a beautiful colour, definitely one of my favourites. It has great pigmentation and longevity, it's such a shame it's been discontinued.

Chanel Rouge Coco in Gabrielle (Lipstick Week Tag)
The very lovely Claire from Aucuparia Brumalis tagged me with lipstick week tag. Claire chose The Reds for her week, I’m going with The Bold Yins (aka the bold ones). Claire finished with her true red and I’ll begin with mine, Chanel Rouge Coco in Gabrielle. I think this might be the truest red I own. It’s not too blue or too warm on my lips, it really does seem to run true.
Formula wise it’s not the longest lasting lipstick but it is creamy, hydrating and very pigmented. And well, that colour is just gorgeous. A proper old Hollywood red, it’s beautiful. I was going to wear this for my wedding but due to its wear time it didn’t make the cut. I did wear Illamasqua’s Drench, which will appear in tomorrow’s lipstick week tag ( well, maybe tomorrow! Definitely soon).
Gabrielle is available from Debenhams etc for £24

L'Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist
I very rarely use eyebrow products, I know they can make a huge difference to your face but I’m lazy. I have been trying out L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist* over the past week and I really like it, and yeah ok it does make a difference. L’Oreal Super Liner Brow Artist is L’Oreal’s first 3 in 1 eyebrow pencil. It niftily has a brush, coloured liner and clear wax to prep, define and set your eyebrows. I have Brunette which matches my eyebrow colour perfectly. It also comes in another 2 colours Blonde and Dark Brunette. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a good shade for redheads.
The eyebrow pencil is soft and doesn’t smudge. I prefer to lightly shade in my eyebrows, rather than heavily define them but it’s easy to make bold eyebrows if that’s your thing. The brush works really well to both brush hairs into place and lighten up pencil marks. I love the addition of the wax pencil. I do have unruly eyebrows so even if I don’t fancy shading them in it’s nice to brush them then wax them into place. So, yeah, this is a really nice product. It’s quick and easy to use, and lasts all day without smudging.

Topshop Nails in Nice N' Neutral
Topshop Nice N’ Neutral is a beautiful, soft mink shade. A perfect nude. In the above photos I’m wearing two coats. Two coats really are needed. The finish is a shiny, gloss ‘wet look’. Application is easy and it dries fast.
Topshop describes it as extra long wearing but I haven’t had it on long enough to testify to these claims. I am in love with the colour though, it’s so pretty. I dunno what’s going on with the swatch on the Topshop site, it’s nowhere near as dark as shown. It's much lighter and softer.
Another winning nail polish from Topshop. It cost £5.
