New Beauty Purchases

new beauty products to try on a budget

How about a good old-fashioned haul post? Do people still do these? Anyway, I still quite like to see what people are buying. When I first started blogging it was a good way to find new products especially from Korean bloggers. There were so many new and strange products to try and the UK market seriously paled in significance. Now though lots of retailers have caught on to the fact that the Korean market is absolutely amazing and so retailers like ASOS having a whole category dedicated to Korean beauty. I think it’s still one of the most exciting and innovative beauty markets there are.

best budget face masks

So, anyway most of the products in this post are new or just new to me. I’ll start with the L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask. This is actually a repurchase so yes, I like this product, I like it A LOT. Apparently it’s a dupe for Glamglow face-masks but I haven’t tried those so cant really say if they are but L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask is wonderful nonetheless. I was initially a bit unsure about trying another skincare product from L’Oreal as I’ve previously had bad reactions but Kit (@whatkitdidnext on Twitter) said she’d had no problems with her sensitive skin so that was enough for me to check it out. I wasn’t sure what to expect really but I am seriously so impressed with this budget face-mask that, well, I repurchased it. There are three different types of clay in this mask and it’s enriched with red algae. It also contains finely milled apricot seeds to give a gentle exfoliation. My skin looks brighter and more even after use. There are also quite a few applications in the little glass jar so I think it’s well worth checking out.

beauty products on a budget

budget liquid lipstick

I’ve seen this new beauty range called Insta-Girl (groan) from Primark on quite a few blogs already so when I was in Primark I picked a few pieces up. I really love the colours of the nail polishes. This is pretty much the kind of colours I wear so I was keen to try them out. The coverage is pretty good and wear is reasonable too. For the price (which I can’t remember, around £1-2 anyway) they’re definitely worth a look. I wasn’t really impressed with the other colours of the Intense Liquid Lipstick but this deep pink/mauvey nude caught my eye. The colour is pretty similar to Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina (I absolutely love these liquid lipsticks btw) but the finish is very different. Primark’s liquid lipstick doesn’t entirely dry down but again I think this is worth a look for the price.

best brow products that last all day

This is the first time I’ve bought anything from the brand Beauty Bakerie so wasn’t sure what to expect but Beauty Bakerie BROWnies (see what they did there?) is rather wonderful. I have naturally dark brown hair but I have a reddish dye through it (which you can see in my advert for Garnier Olia here yes that is a bit of shameless self-promotion but YOLO) and their Auburn shade is perfect. You only need the tiniest amount of product as it’s just so pigmented and once it’s applied it just won’t budge. A brilliant product.

best matte lipstick

Have you tried out L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Exclusive Reds? (if not I highly recommend Blake’s red, it’s absolutely stunning with an amazing matte formula) if you have you most probably know how great they are and I think a bargain for the price. The new L’Oreal Matte Addiction Lipstick is just as good. When I saw Plum Tuxedo I might have done a tiny wee (I’m sorry but I got very excited and I’ve had a child). It’s the most beautiful vibrant pinky-plum. It applies like a dream; looks matte yet is incredibly comfortable to wear. I am most definitely buying more shades of these. It’s love.

sheet masks to try

And finally are a couple of facemasks I purchased to get free delivery from Beauty Bay.I haven’t yet tried the Holika Holika Rice Sheet Mask but it’s very much the kind of mask I always go for, a brightening one. I have tried the Berrisom PoreTox Fruit Soda Bubble Mask and well, it’s definitely an interesting experience. The sheet mask foams up when it touches your skin but other than it being novel I can’t say I saw much difference in my skin when I removed it. It didn’t cause any irritation but I didn’t really see any results either so not a repurchase from me.

Do you have any recommendations for me to try?
