Protect Your Teeth with Sensodyne Pronamel

toothpaste for enamel erosion

My preferred method of buying toothpaste is either picking the cheapest or occasionally I stray into the more pricey teeth products when they're on offer. Sometimes I just can't resist pretty packaging like Marvis toothpaste for example. I absolutely adore the design of the packaging. However more recently I'm rethinking my previous cheap is best method as I'm starting to show some enamel wear on my teeth most probably caused by my slight addiction to Irn Bru, very Scottish of me. That's why I was keen to try Sensodyne's Pronamel range* .

Our modern diet is having a disastrous effect on the enamel of our teeth. Acid from the seemingly harmless fruit juice and even wine (I'm more concerned about gin tbh) can dissolve minerals from our teeth. This softens the enamel surface making it more easily worn away. I have very noticeable signs of this on several of my teeth. I think it’s too early to tell if there’s any improvement in my teeth but I am going to continue using both the toothpaste and mouthwash for several reasons.

Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste review

I’ll start with Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Protection toothpaste in Mint*. The toothpaste looks slightly different from standard toothpastes, perhaps because it’s formulated to increase the uptake of fluoride at the surface of the tooth. Over time this will help to strengthen and re-harden worn down enamel as well as protect the tooth from further erosion. Sensodyne Pronamel is also surprisingly gentle for such a hardworking formula. I have sensitive teeth and gums and this doesn’t irritate in the slightest. It’s a very pleasant mint that leaves the mouth feeling fresh and clean.

Along with
Sensodyne Pronamel toothpaste I’ve been using Sensodyne Pronamel Daily Mouthwash*. This is a great all-rounder as it not only protects against acid erosion, but also protects against tooth decay. I don’t know about you but I find many mouthwashes burning and just too much in general but pronamel mouthwash is refreshing without any stinging, and the gentle mint leaves the breath fresh. So I will be continuing to use these products and hopefully the acid erosion won’t get any worse. I’d rather use a couple of products that cost several pounds than go to the dentist for treatment any day.
