Tim Horton's Glasgow

It feels like ages since I last posted, in fact it’s almost a month since my last post! There’s a few different reasons for my lax on here lately. Firstly time just seems to be escaping me, darting off into the distance and I can never find it. Also, my health hasn’t been great again. I had some scans done to check one thing and discovered something entirely different was wrong. I’m still not sure what that is so I’m seeing a specialist but I am just knackered all the time but thankfully I’m heading to Gleddoch Spa on Friday for a much needed wee break.

So anywaaaay, if you live in Scotland (and most probably the rest of the UK) you’ve most probably come across the excitement surrounding Tim Horton’s launching their first coffee shop in Glasgow, the first for the chain in the UK. Tim Horton’s is revered in its home country Canada thanks to its iconic drink the Double Double and Tim Bits. I was invited to a preview and while I was excited about trying the legendary Tim Horton’s I also love going along to these kind of events because some of my favourite bloggers (and people in general) are there too. In fact Tim Horton’s is great for meeting up with friends when you’re low on time. It’s also perfect for the family as it’s relatively inexpensive and I think everyone would find something to like.

What makes Tim Horton’s different from its other competitors Starbucks and Costa is that there is a much wider selection of food on offer. You can get chilli, toasties, soup, porridge, different types of breakfast muffins, granola, paninis etc. (you get the drift: full menu here) Oh and I mustn’t forget about their cake/pastry selection where you’ll find the infamous Tim Bits. Tim Bits are the holes from doughnuts made into small, squidgy balls of delight. I tried a selection of these and my favourites are definitely the chocolate and birthday cake ones. But, to be honest, I’d quite happily eat all the flavours. You have to try them when you go in.

I asked about how they deal with people with allergies as my son has a dairy allergy. The staff were incredibly helpful explaining that most things can get made from scratch depending on dietary requirements and they’d do their best to accommodate everyone.  I should mention that the staff were excellent despite my indecision as what to get. So thank you for being so patient with me. Do pop along and see what all the fuss is about!

*Review (and rambling) my own. Food & drinks kindly paid for by Tim Horton’s.
